Nemo came to us from the Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue. He is 7 years old, and he has lived with us for three years. Nemo has been to Caye Caulker twice and will return for a third time in January of 2013. Nemo sits on the veranda of our cabana keeping track of who passes down the South Point trail. He loves when people call out his name because then he knows to flash a friendly smile. He tends to think that those that pass on bicycles are sheep that must be chased, but a stern “no, Nemo” puts him back up on the veranda to keep a steady watch. We think that Nemo is probably the first collie to have visited Caye Caulker because when he first came to the island, people said he looked like a lion!!! Nemo is a bit older now since his first days on Caye Caulker and he isn’t as fast as he used to be. But just a bit of a warning to the iguanas that have taken residence under our stairs, enjoy it while you can because Nemo will not let you stay there when he comes back!!
